To our Patients and Referring Physicians of Roseburg and Douglas County,

Since 1999 it has been our privilege to treat urologic patients at our satellite clinic in Roseburg. The opening of this clinic was fostered by the desire to help meet the urologic needs of Douglas County in the wake of Dr. Skoglund's retirement, and in addition to being a pleasant change of pace for the partners of Oregon Urology Institute, has provided a valuable resource for you, our clientele.

In the past two years however, the landscape of our practice here in the Eugene/Springfield area had changed. Several partner retirements coupled with some other manpower losses are now making it difficult for our practice to meet all of the needs of our patients in Lace County. We are frequently finding that supplying a urologist to our Roseburg satellite clinic leaves us with only one physician covering our extremely busy Eugene/Springfield office. This fact coupled with our call responsibilities here at home now force us to close our Roseburg satellite clinic effective December 1st, 2008.

At this point, our intent is to merely "mothball" the clinic and revisit the possibility of reopening it in mid to late 2009. This decision will largely hinge around physician and provider manpower at that time. We have hired another urologist who will be starting with our practice in this time frame and we plan at that time to explore reopening our Roseburg clinic.

We stress to you that we remain available for urologic consultation here at our main office in Springfield (1-800-246-9925), and that we remain fully committed to those patients in Douglas County with whom we already have a flow of care. We look forward to continuing to provide the finest urologic care to our patients in Douglas County.
